"Red Bank Catholic Girls Basketball Hold Of Manasquan In A Close Intense Battle At The End"
24-1 Red Bank Catholic and 19-6 Manasquan was the second game of the double header live from Toms River North Highschool. The winner of this game would face St. John Vianney on Sunday February 19th at Monmouth University in the championship game. This game was close and a battle towards the end. Can Red Bank Catholic or Manasquan survive in the semifinals.
Red Bank Catholic has been dominant whole season only one loss accounted for. While Manasquan is having a great season also, they have been sometimes inconsistent in their six losses. This was a bigger game for them in my opinion to show what they can do against a top team. Manasquan did a fantastic job of keep this game close, making runs and trying to take the lead but Red Bank Catholic did a great job of holding off there runs.
Both teams played good defense all around throughout the matchup, forcing tough shots, blocking and getting turnovers. The offenses still shot the ball at a high rate but kind of struggled a little with being a low scoring game at the end. Red Bank Catholic has more length then Manasquan but they did an amazing job of matching that. They had opportunities to cut into Red Bank Catholic's lead but fell short at the end losing 44-38 in a close hard fought battle.
With Red Bank Catholic winning, this sets up for a potential exciting matchup against St. John Vianney who is 27-0 on Sunday February 19th at Monmouth University. Red Bank Catholic improve to 24-1 advancing to the championship game. Give credit to Manasquan for continuing to fight in this game.
