"Saints Win The Derek Carr Sweepstakes By Signing Him To A 4 Year $150 Million Dollar Contract"

Former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr just cashed in with the New Orleans Saints by signing a 4 year $150 million dollar contract worth up to $100 million total guaranteed as he starts a new chapter in his career with the family. The New York Jets and Carolina Panthers were also interested in Carr but ultimately decided that the Saints were the best opportunity. Does this make New Orleans Super Bowl contenders in a weak NFC South.

We heard yesterday from ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler that Carr was leaning towards the New York Jets at one point and willing to wait for them depending on what Aaron Rodgers does. But today something changed and the Saints were able to land the top quarterback during free agency in Derek Carr as he tweeted and made a Instagram post saying "Who Dat". With Carr off the table it will be interesting to see what Carolina, New York and Las Vegas does with their quarterback situation.

Las Vegas Raiders had tough season but Derek Carr still put up some good numbers finishing with 60.8 completions, 3522 yards, 24 touchdowns, 14 interceptions and 7.02 yd/attempts. Carr ended up being benched by coach Josh McDaniels in favor of Jarrett Stidham. That was tough on Derek Carr but all along he wanted to continue his playing career with a different team. Carr did a goodbye post to all the Raiders fans, thanking them and everyone in the organization for helping his family also.

Now that Derek Carr is with another team in the New Orleans Saints, I feel like a change of scenery is much needed for him and his family. He goes to a team with good offensive talent like in Vegas, great defense surrounding him, fantastic coaching staff and an amazing fan base that loves their Saints. They need to now upgrade the offensive line around Carr as this starts a new era in Saints football.

New Orleans Saints fans should be pumped and excited today with them knowing that Derek Carr will be their quarterback for the next four years. After Drew Brees retired, they had Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton. They now have one of the best quarterbacks in their own division in my opinion and continuing to build this team for the season which can potentially be a special one for them.

Congrats To Derek Carr And His Family On Signing With The Saints. Also Give Credit To Their Front Office Getting This Done.
