Scranton Wilks Barre Railriders Lose Another Tough Game Against The Syracuse Mets"

Scranton Wilks Barre Railriders was trying to go above 500 as the Syracuse Mets wanted to continue their winning ways and having alll momentum right now. The turnout was great yesterday with over 6,000 fans at PNC Field on a beautiful Friday night. Tanner Tully got the ball for Railriders and Alex Valverde for Syracuse Mets. Can Scranton get back on track or does Syracuse have other plans.

Tanner Tully didn't really have command yesterday but showed what he can do on the mound with the two strikeouts. Tully who is left handed pitcher went 3.1 innings, 6 hits, 4 runs, 3 er, 0 walks, 2 strikeouts, 1 home run and a 6.75 era. Michael Gomez was the first one to come into the game after Tanner and he struggled big time. Gomez pitched 1.2 innings, 6 hits, 6 runs, 6 er, 1 walk, 1 strikeout, 1 home run and a 15.43 era. Then left hander D.J. Snelten had 1.2 innings, 2 runs, 2 er, 2 walks, 1 strikeout and a 4.76 era. Lastly our friend Aaron McGarity went 2.1 innings, 1 hit, 1 run, 1 er, 1 walk, 3 strikeouts, 1 home run and a 2.70 era.

Scranton Wilks Barre Railriders pitching did not do a great job of containing the Syracuse Mets offense as they got 13 runs and 15 hits. Arauiz, Baty (grand slam) and Mauricio all had home runs yesterday. There were other players who also contributed for the Mets against Railriders pitching. They put the ball in play, took advantage of the two errors, moved runners on base and had a well balanced offense. Brett Baty is ready to be called up again by the Mets after the performances he has been having in this series.

Syracuse Mets pitching did a ok job yesterday giving up seven runs, 11 hits and a few home runs but were able to hold off Scranton's offense at the end who made things kind of interesting in ninth inning. They had two pitchers who has major league experience come out of the bullpen yesterday in Tommy Hunter and T.J. McFarland who both pitched great against the Railriders offense. Scranton Wilks Barre Railriders also had a well balanced offense against their pitching but wasn't enough.

Our friend Andres Chaparro ( 2 home runs) and Jose Godoy both had home runs for Scranton Wilks Barre Railriders. Chaparro now has 6 of them on the season as he continues his strong season at the plate. Godoy hit his first home run of the year yesterday with Scranton. Jamie Westbrook had an rbi in the game against Syracuse Mets. Both teams combined for 20 runs, 26 hits and 5 errors.

I also had an opportunity to interview Yankees left hander pitching prospect Matt Krook after the game talking about his performance from two nights ago, this season so far, manager Shelley Duncan, Yankees fans/our friends wants him to be in the majors now, his goals, Greg Weissert getting called up, favorite pitcher and go to meal. Krook is a candidate to be a call up this season for the Yankees if he continues his strong start here with Scranton. Shout-out to Emily for setting up the interview yesterday with Matt Krook.

They also showed Anthony Volpe on the big screen after hitting his first home run with the Yankees.
