"Somerset Patriots Come Up Short As The Game Was Called After Five Innings Due To Weather"

It was Zorros night at Somerset on a beautiful day from the start. It was a packed house tonight with all of their fans showing up wearing the Zorro hats and jerseys also. Before the game they honored Manager Raul Dominguez, some of the players also on this special night. Somerset Patriots was trying to continue the winning ways after the night before with Gray Fenter on the mound against New Hampshire Fishercats. Adam Kloffenstein was pitching for New Hampshire tonight.

Adam Kloffenstein dominated this game going 5.0 innings, 2 hits, 1 run, 1 er, 1 walk, 8 strikeouts and a 4.50 era. Brandon Lockridge was able to get an rbi double against him which would be the only run for Somerset Patriots. Kloffenstein only gave up two hits with Tyler Hardman getting the other one. They had trouble getting to his pitches and forced one walk. Kloffenstein ended up getting the complete game win (1-1) with this game being called short due to rain and lighting. He saved their bullpen for tomorrow's game as they will be well rested.

Gray Fenter had a great outing also going 4.2 innings, 5 hits, 3 runs, 3 er, 3 walks, 7 strikeouts and a 3.72 era (1-1). Fenter's command was there but couldn't locate some of his pitches. Then Justin Wilson came in after and did a fantastic job pitching 0.1 innings, 1 strikeout. Gray Fenter showed tonight that he can be a starter pitcher in the future for Yankees. The Somerset Patriots defense had another big game behind Fenter

and Wilson. Their pitching, defense has improved in last two games but offense needs to do a better job.

It was unfortunate that the game got called due to rain and lighting but there is some positives that Somerset Patriots can take from this game and focus on tomorrow's game. Also Harrison Bader will be back tomorrow at Somerset to continue his rehab assignment Yankees fans.
