"Somerset Patriots Finish The Home Stand Strong With A Dominant 11-2 Win"
Today was a getaway game for Somerset Patriots as they were trying to finish the home stand strong before heading for another road trip. It was a 1:05 start against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies as their showed up with a great turnout. Somerset were looking to win their fourth straight as Blane Abeyta was on the mound for them. The weather was perfect today around 73 degrees, sunshine and a great day for baseball. They have all the momentum against Binghamton and dominant this whole series.
Blane Abeyta had a good outing who got the win today (2-0) going 6.0 innings, 4 hits, 2 runs, 2 er, 4 walks and 1 strikeout. His command was a little shaky in the beginning but did a great job of making adjustments throughout the game. Abeyta has to cut down on walks and locate his pitches. Abeyta is improving each start for Somerset giving length for them. Lisandro Santos came in after Abeyta who got the hold (3) going 2.0 innings, 0 hits, 0 runs, 0 er, 0 walks and 3 strikeouts. Then Justin Maese pitched 1.0 innings, 0 hits, 0 runs, 0 er, 2 walks and 1 strikeout.
Somerset Patriots offense was outstanding today breaking out for 11 runs against Binghamton Rumble Ponies. They got timley hits, working the count, getting on base with walks and scoring with runners in scoring position. Big contributions from Tyler Hardman (4th home run of season), Brandon Lockridge (1st home run of season), Austin Wells (3rd home run of season), Jasson Dominguez (3 rbis) and Everson Pereira (1 rbi). It was well balanced today, not forcing anything and playing team baseball.
This team is currently sitting at 17-9, with a four game win streak, feeling confident that has momentum who are heading for another road trip. What a fantastic home stand for Somerset and all the fans showing support.
