"Somerset Patriots Get A Bounce Back Win Against Reading Fightin Phils"
Somerset Patriots get a big boost from the offense yesterday against Reading Fightin Phils after a struggle from the day before. It was bring your dog to the ballpark day also with most fans having their amazing dogs in attendance. Will Warren was slated to pitch this game but ended up getting called up to Scranton Wilks Barre Railriders, so Richard Fitts started for Somerset. This was a big opportunity for Fitts to get his confidence back in the game.
Richard Fitts went 3.2 innings, 6 hits, 3 runs, 3 er, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts as his command was a little off and couldn't locate some of the pitches. The bullpen stepped up big for Somerset and backed up Fitts which helped them win the game also. Shawn Semple (2-0) pitched 2.1 innings, 3 strikeouts, Justin Wilson 2.0 innings, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts and Michael Giacone 1.0 innings and 1 strikeout. They did a fantastic job limiting Reading Fightin Phils offense after scoring three runs early.
Somerset Patriots offense had success the whole game against Reading Fightin Phils pitching as they put up a 10 spot. This team put up runs in the first four innings and getting momentum early. Somerset got a lot of contributions from Austin Wells, Tyler Hardman, Jasson Dominguez and Everson Pereira who all hit home runs for them. Hardman is now leading the team with 7 home runs in first. They were able to score runs with runners in scoring position also and now improve to 22-13 on the season.
Clayton Beeter will be on the mound tonight for Somerset.
