"Somerset Patriots Win The Series Finale As Harrison Bader Continues His Rehab Assignment"
Somerset Patriots was trying to bounce back from the shortened game with the weather with a big crowd in attendance again before they hit the road. It was a beautiful day yesterday for baseball as both teams were getting ready to play the series finale live from TD Bank Ballpark. Before the game they showed Yogi Berra's documentary It ain't over on the scoreboard and his granddaughter Lindsay Berra was in the house for the preview. I had the opportunity to interview Lindsay on the show, meet her in person at the stamps event, she inspiring and works hard everyday. Can the Patriots finish the home stand strong.
Blas Castano was on the mound for Somerset as he showed great command, locating his pitches but gave up some runs during the outing. Castano went 5.0 innings, 3 hits, 3 runs, 2 er, 3 walks, 6 strikeouts, 1 home run and a 1.80 era. Their bullpen did a great job not giving up anymore runs starting with Lisandro Santos going 1.0 innings getting the hold (1) and a 1.04 era. Then it was Indigo Diaz who also got the hold (1) 1.0 innings, 1 hit, 1 walk and a 1.29 era. Next it was Steven Jennings with the hold (1) pitching 1.0 innings, 2 strikeouts and a 2.57 era. Last Zac Houston came in to close it out striking out 1 helping Somerset win 7-3.
Somerset Patriots offense showed up yesterday scoring 7 runs and getting 7 hits against New Hampshire Fishercats pitching. They did a great job with running in scoring position, forcing walks with Jasson Dominguez having three of them, stealing bases and putting the ball in play. Jeisson Rosario had two home runs yesterday as Max Burt hit one home run also for the Patriots. Rosario now has 3 on the season while Burt as 4. This offense was more balanced with the Fishercats pitching having trouble locating their pitches. Tyler Hardman and Carlos Narvaez also got into the action with some hits.
With this win the Somerset Patriots are now 8-7 on the season, finishing their home stand strong, getting momentum back as they get ready for another road trip. Harrison Bader continues to progress in the right direction during his rehab assignment even though going 0-3 yesterday. Bader moving around in the outfield well which is another great sign for Yankees fans.
