Yesterday live from Toms River North Highschool, the girls basketball team put on a show against Brick Memorial as they beat them 53-21 in a route. Toms River North had a great game plan going into the game and it worked out big time. Brick Memorial was struggling coming into this game at 4-9 and being a very young team at the same time. Brick Memorial had no game plan that worked for them and was in trouble from the start.
Toms River North started the game fast, never looked back and kept their feet on gas pedal. They were up 18-7 in first quarter with great shot making and defense. Their defense was outstanding the whole game giving up 2 points in second quarter, 5 in third quarter and 7 again during the fourth. Brick Memorial's offense had trouble finding easy shots, turning the ball over and making simple mistakes that cost them big time.
Another big key was Toms River North getting second chance points with multiple offensive rebounds and not giving up on the play. The put back layups was trouble for Brick Memorial's defense which lead to this huge lead for Toms River North. With this win, they now improve to 9-2 on the season and 7-0 in shore which is important as these games will have more impact down the stretch.
